Ans: Lencho was a farmer. His earth needed a downpour or at least a shower. He was sure that it would rain as
he had seen clouds in the North-East. One day during the meal, big drops of rain began to fall. Lencho went out and was very happy as the raindrops amounted to coins. His fields will yield rich crops due to theseraindrops. But suddenly a strong wind began to blow and along with the rain very large hailstone began to fall. The boys ran out to collect hailstones which appeared like frozen pearls. For an hour the hail rained everywhere including Lencho’s corn field. The field was white as if covered with salt. The flowers were gone from the plants. The corn was totally destroyed. Lencho’s soul was feeled with sadness.


(लेंचो एक किसान था । उसकी जमीन को एक भारी वर्षा अथवा कम से कम एक बौछार की आवश्यकता थी । उसको पता था कि वर्षा होगी क्योंकि उसने उत्तर-पूर्व में बादल देख लिए थे । एक दिन भोजन के समय, वर्षा की बड़ी-बड़ी बूंदें गिरने लगी । लेंचो बाहर गया और वह इतना प्रसन्न हुआ कि उसे वर्षा की बूंदें सिक्कों के समान लग रही थी । वर्षा की इन बूंदों के कारण ही उसके खेत अच्छी फसल देंगे । लेकिन अचानक तेज आँधी चलने लगी और आँधी के साथ बड़े-बड़े ओले भी गिरने लगे । बच्चे घर से बाहर आकर ओले एकत्र करने लगे जो उनको जमे हुए मोती जैसे लग रहे थे । ये ओले एक घंटे तक लेंचो के अनाज के खेत सहित चारों ओर गिरते रहे । पूरा खेत सफेद था जैसे कि नमक से ढका हुआ हो । ओलों ने उसके पौधों के सभी फूल तोड़ डाले थे । फसल पूरी तरह से नष्ट हो चुकी थी । लेंचो का मन दुःखी हो उठा । ) ।

So he wrote a letter to God. The postmaster opened the letter addressed to God. He laughed heartily. But soon he became serious.
20He said, “I wish I had the faith of the man who wrote this letter.” He decided to help Lencho. He collected money from his employees. He also gave a part of his salary. He sent money to Lencho in an envelope. Due to his firm faith, Lancho was not surprised to see the money. Thus we know that Lencho was a firm believer of God.


(लेंचो एक कठिन परिश्रमी किसान था । एक बार उसकी फसल पकी हुई थी । उसे कुछ वर्षा की जरूरत थी । वर्षा शुरू हो गयी । वह बहुत खुश हुआ । किंतु अचानक ही यह ओलों के तूफान में बदल गई । उसकी फसल पूर्ण रूप से नष्ट हो गई । वह दुःखी था । अब उसकी एकमात्र आशा भगवान से ही सहायता प्राप्त करने की थी । उसका भगवान में दृढ़ विश्वास था । इसलिए उसने भगवान को एक पत्र लिखा । पोस्टमास्टर ने भगवान को संबोधित पत्र को खोला । वह जोर से हँसा । किंतु शीघ्र ही वह गंभीर हो गया । उसने कहा, “काश । मुझे भी उस व्यक्ति जैसा विश्वास प्राप्त होता जिसने यह पत्र लिखा है । ” उसने लेंचो की मदद करने का निश्चय किया । उसने अपने कर्मचारियों से धन एकत्र किया । उसने भी अपने वेतन का कुछ अंश दिया । उसने एक लिफाफे में लेंचो को धन भेजा । अपने दृढ़ विश्वास के कारण लेंचों को धन देखकर बिल्कुल भी आश्चर्य नहीं हुआ । इस प्रकार हम जानते हैं कि लेंचो को भगवान में दृढ़ विश्वास था । )

Ans: Lencho lived with his family in a house which was built on a low hill in a valley. It was the only house in
the entire valley. Lencho was a hardworking farmer. He entirely depended on his field for his living. His fields promised a rich harvest. By chance there was a heavy rain. Along with the rain large hailstones also fell down. As a result his crops totally destroyed. There was no one to help him. The greatest shock to Lencho about his work was that he did work throughout the day but got nothing. He wrote a letter to God to ask for a hundred pesos in order to sow his field again and for his living. In this way we know that Lencho was hardworking.

So he wrote a letter to God, asking him for one hundred pesos in order to sow his field again and for living untill the new crops came. The letter was received by a postman. 3–Kind and Sympathetic: The postmaster saw the letter addressed to God. He read the content of the
letter. He decided to help Lencho. He could not arrange money in full. He collected some money from his employers. He also gave a part of his salary. Thus he helped Lencho. This shows his kindness.
